Maria Hondros is a highly qualified and experienced doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a member of AACMA and is registered with the Chinese Medicine Registration Board of Victoria. Maria received her five year Double Bachelor of Applied Science Degree – Chinese Medicine/ Human Biology at RMIT University. Where she also ccompleted a six month internship at Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Nanjing, China. Maria joins Balance Complementary Medicine with over five years clinical experience, including clinical practice in both Australia, Europe and China. Maria is passionate about Chinese Medicine and uses its core principle, of not only focusing on treating the symptom but in performing further investigation to identify and treat the underlying cause of the condition. She combines modalities such as Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Cupping, Tuina, Moxibustion. Along with dietary and lifestyle advice to help her patients achieve optimum health and wellbeing. She has experience in treating a wide variety of conditions including musculoskeletal disorders- such as pain, headaches, fibromyalgia, sciatica, neck and lower back pain. As well as anxiety/stress disorders, digestive issues, seasonal allergies. She has a key interest in gynaecological conditions, including dysmenorrea, endometriosis, infertility and IVF support. As a practitioner, Maria is a strong believer in ongoing personal and professional development. She constantly attends seminars and lectures on a variety of topics, and is interested in keeping up to date with the latest research and treatment techniques. She recently obtained qualifications as a Reiki 2 practitioner. Maria will combine her extensive knowledge of human biological science and Traditional Chinese medicine to get results.
