Naturopathy is a holistic approach to wellness, combining nature with modern science to support the body’s capacity to heal.

The origins of naturopathy can be traced back to ancient Greece. The goal of naturopathic medicine is to achieve the best possible health of body, mind and spirit. It is believed that the body possesses an inherent capacity to generate self-healing given the appropriate conditions. This process is facilitated through teaching and providing a range of holistic medicines such as lifestyle and dietary advice, nutritional supplementation and herbal medicines.

Our naturopaths take your health very seriously and may recommend some functional in house or external testing to get to the cause of your health concerns.

We offer a wide range of in-house testing including specialised comprehensive health status screening, Bio-impedance cellular health testing, Zinc status, blood glucose and iridology to clients all over the Bayside and wider Melbourne area.

We may also send you for external testing such as Vitamin D, Thyroid hormone Profile, Comprehensive digestive stool analysis and Hormone saliva testing, hair mineral analysis, food sensitivity testing.

Seeing Naturopaths for the First Time

If you’ve never seen naturopaths for health concerns before, you may be wondering what happens during your first session, and how things happen after that. It may have been suggested to you to see naturopaths near you if you have not been getting answers from your regular practitioner or are continuing to not feel like yourself.

Your first session with a naturopathic doctor is a discovery session. They will ask you questions regarding your health concerns, obtain medical history surrounding this health concern and others, and ask you what you are looking to get out of the session with them.

For many people, they come in with one or two chronic health concerns and are simply looking for a different way to treat their issue. They want to feel alive again, and no longer need to deal with chronic pain or other symptoms. They are looking for a way to feel balanced and that’s where Balance Complementary Medicine steps in.

Does it sound like you could benefit from seeing naturopaths about your health concerns? Talk with our team to see what complementary medicine options we have that could suit you.

What Should I Take to My First Appointment at the Naturopaths?

This is an interesting question and what you are seeing one of our naturopaths about will determine what you need to bring. As a basic requirement, you should know your health history including all recent testing results, how you have been treated previously, your health concerns and what you aim to achieve from visiting a naturopathic doctor. Our team will assist you with all enquiries about your first appointment so contact us today.
